WWW Wednesday- 11/4/2026

The WWW Wednesday Meme was formally hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and has been revived by Taking on a World of Words. The meme has you answering three questions: What are you currently reading, What did you recently finish reading, and What do you think you'll read next?

Have a great rest of your week!

🔖 What are you currently reading?

- My Pressures: The Bizarrely True Story of Andy Serkis by Andy Serkis: One of the most interesting memoirs I have ever read. It is structured as an imaginary conversation between Andy and his most famous characters such as Gollum, Caesar, and Ulysses Klaue. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook which Andy Serkis narrates himself. Couldn't help but grin when I first heard him do the Gollum voice in the book. Such a gem of a book!

- Papa Drew a Thousand Birds: A Memoir by Maren Amini and Ahmadjan Amini: This is a graphic novel memoir told by a father and daughter. It is about Ahmadjan’s dream of becoming an artist and his flight and return to war-torn Afghanistan. The memoir is woven together with a retelling of the Persian epic poem The Conference of Birds. I will be starting this later on today. The book combines both Maren's comic art design with Ahmadjan's paintings. What drew me in to this one was the beautiful artstyle.

🔖 What did you recently finish reading?

- The Year I Stopped Drawing by Grant Snider: I love Grant Snider's illustration style very much. Many of his other books are some of my favorites including: Poetry Comics, so I was excited when I was able to get an early copy to review. Here is my full review for anyone interested in reading it: The Year I Stopped Drawing ARC Review✏️. The book will be released on November 10th.

It is a novel-in-verse that is about finding oneself and embracing your imperfections. The story is one I believe all ages could relate to even though it is for middle grade readers. Grant Snider's art is fantastic and goes along with the story perfectly. I love how we get the main character, Adam's thoughts through the poetry and also the illustrations. Such a great way to tell an artist's story. It was wonderful to experience him finding his way again. I particularly loved the ending.

🔖 What do you think you’ll read next?

-  The Coming of Arthur (Merlin's Isle #2) by Malcolm Guite,  Song for Medusa by Grace Desmarais, and I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith: These are all books I will be reading next. I'm not completely sure what order I will be reading them in yet, but they will be the ones I go between.
