Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
It was very hard to narrow down my list of my most anticipated books from the second half of the year to 10 books. So, I decided to make a list of the ten books I do not have ARCs of at the moment and then a list of 10 of the ARCs. Each picture has a link to the Goodreads page.
1. The Adventure Zone, Vol. 7: Story and Song by Clint McElroy, Griffin McElroy, Justin McElroy, Travis McElroy, and illustrated by Carey Pietsch
Release Date: July 14th, 2026
- One of my most anticipated books of the year is definitely the final volume of the Adventure Zone series. I have been waiting for this book ever since I read the sixth volume in 2024. It is one of my favorite graphic novel series and I look forward to seeing how Taako, Magnus, and Merle's story will conclude in Volume 7.

2. Life Out of Order (The Time Traveler's Wife #2) by Audrey Niffenegger
Release Date: October 6th, 2026
- I first read The Time Traveler's Wife back in 2010 (while I was in tenth grade). It was my favorite book for years after I read it. Audrey Niffenegger has been saying for quite a long time that she was planning on telling Alba's (Henry and Clare's daughter) story and now we are finally getting it all these years later. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be back in this world and to see where Audrey will take the story.
3. Mestra by Madeline Miller
Release Date: September 29th, 2026
- I have been waiting for Madeline Miller to write another book for many years now. Like so many before me, I feel in love with her writing style in The Song of Achilles and grew to love it even more in Circe and also Galatea. This is another novella like Galatea. It is about the myth of Mestra, who I surprisingly do not know a ton about going into this one. All I know, is that I will pick up anything Madeline Miller writes and I cannot wait to read it.
4. Styx- The River (Goddesses of the Underworld #2) by Nikita Gill
Release Date: September 15th, 2026
- The sequel to the Goddesses of the Underworld series which I started last year. Nikita Gill is my favorite poet and I adored reading her version of the myths of Hekate. I look forward to reading her take on Styx's story in this novel in verse. Greek Mythology will always be one of my favorite topics of interest.
5. My Pressures: The Bizarrely True Story of Andy Serkis by Andy Serkis
Release date: November 3rd, 2026
- I enjoy memoirs of my favorite celebrities quite a bit and this sounds like one of the most interesting ones I have ever heard of. The description makes it sound like Andy has chosen to tell his life story to his characters such as Gollum, Caesar, and Ulysses Klaue and this memoir is a dialogue between them. I will definitely be listening to the audiobook of this later on in the year and I'm highly looking forward to it.
6. Socks & Secret Quests by Triona Murphy and illustrated by James Firnhaber
Release Date: September 29th, 2026
- Described as an illustrated novel with a mix between Howl's Moving Castle and Dungeons & Dragons. I knew I wanted to read this novel ever since I first saw the blurb for it earlier this year.
7. The Slantwise Histories by Alix E. Harrow
Release Date: October 20th, 2026
- Alix E. Harrow has one of my favorite types of writing styles and I absolutely love when an author has a collection of short stories. This was added to my TBR list as soon as I heard about it. Cannot wait to read through these stories later this year.
8. Mr. Mendlebee's Pandimensional Literary Repository (and Yarn) by Rebecca Mckee
Release Date: November 17th, 2026
- I'll always be a sucker for a magical bookshop story and this one sounds absolutely perfect.
9. Wondrous by Heather Fawcett
Release Date: October 6th, 2026
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland retellings, reimaginings, and continuations are always some of my favorite stories. I have been looking forward to this one ever since I first heard about on Heather's Instagram. Heather Fawcett has become one of my absolute favorite authors and I am eagerly awaiting to see her take on the world of Wonderland. I cannot wait to fall down the rabbit hole yet again.
10. Disenchanted (Rewitched #3) by Lucy Jane Wood
Release Date: September 8th, 2026
- I read Rewitched last year and had a great time with it. This book sounds even better than the first book and I cannot wait to pick it up. Witchy books will always draw me in.
The ARCS
Here are the ARCs I am looking forward to picking up the most during the rest of the year. Daggerbound (Swordheart #2) by T. Kingfisher would have been the top of this list if I had not already listened to and adored that book. I have a full review for it on my blog: Daggerbound ARC Review.
1. The Witch Queen (The Crimson Crown #2) by Heather Walter
Release Date: August 4th, 2026
- I read The Crimson Crown a couple of years ago now and adored Heather Walter's queer origin story for Snow White's Evil Queen. Her take on the fairy tale felt original and I loved seeing how she took the Snow White character in it. I look forward to seeing where she will go with this story.
2. Fall for a Fairytale by Isabelle Taylor
Release Date: November 10th, 2026
- This book is said to be perfect for fans of cozy fantasy stories, the movie Anastasia, flying pirates ships, found family, and animal companions. Literally everything I could want in this adult fantasy story. I cannot wait to pick up my arc of this book later on this year.
3. Sea of Charms (The Spellshop #3) by Sarah Beth Durst
Release Date: July 28th, 2026
- I love The Spellshop book series and have been enjoying the further adventures in this world. Sea of Charms follows Marin who we met in the other books in the series. It is about her and Perri transporting refugees from Alyssium to safety. One of them is a composer named Dax who refuses to leave without his instruments. I cannot wait to read this cozy fantasy romance very soon.
4. In These Gilded, Ghostly Hearts by Gwendolyn Kiste
Release Date: September 15th, 2026
- Another book I will be reading very soon. Gabby from @gabbyreads on Booktube is doing the her readathon: Summerween from July 3rd-9th and I will be reading this book for a couple of the prompts.
- It is a queer continuation of The Great Gatsby following Daisy Buchanan's daughter and it deals with the ghosts of her mother and Gatsby. I'm highly looking forward to seeing where the author takes this story.
Here's Gabby's announcement for anyone interested: SUMMERWEEN readathon announcement!
5. Written in Starlight by Sloane Brooks
Release Date: October 13th, 2026
- I first saw a blurb for this book on Instagram a few months ago and then saw one of the author's most recent posts where she said that it is perfect "If you like books about books, love interests who are a little "Han Solo" and a little "Regency Rake", portal fantasy, and letters in books." It was already on my TBR but this description sold it for me. I love that it is a mix between fantasy and science fiction.
6. Twig's Traveling Tomes by Gryffin Murphy
Release Date: September 8th, 2026
- Books about books will always be favorites for me.
7. The Dungeon Book by Gareth Hanrahan
Release Date: August 11th, 2026
- The Dungeon Book sounds like a witty story told by a talking skull named Cornelius. That's all I needed to know to be sold on the book.
8. The Pumpkin Bride by Fiona Buttercup
Release Date: September 1st, 2026
- Described as a combination between Shrek and The Princess Bride, call me intrigued. I knew I had to check this out as soon as I heard about it on Netgalley.
9. The Year I Stopped Drawing by Grant Snider
Release Date: November 10th, 2026
- I love Grant Snider's poetry collections. This time around he wrote an illustrated novel in verse. Grant's art style is one of my favorites. He's one of the many artists/poets who I follow online. I look forward to seeing how he designs this book.
10. The Two Wills by Blair Fell
Release Date: October 20th, 2026
- A queer historical fiction novel about the inspiration behind William Shakespeare's sonnets. I am a big fan of historical fiction stories based on authors. Shakespeare is one I have read many books about and I'm highly looking forward to this one.
