Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This topic is one of my favorites of the year so far because of my love for flowers. I absolutely love floral covers so much and had a hard time narrowing the list down. Here are some of my absolute favorite book covers filled with flowers.
1. The Illuminated Book of Blooms by Robin Crofut-Brittingham - I have an ARC copy of this book and it is absolutely stunning! Two of my obsessions are learning more about nature and also artwork. This book deals with both of these. It will be coming out on October 20th.
2. Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery- I love the Litjoy classics editions so much, especially their children's classics. This is probably my favorite of the covers.
3. The Landscapes of Anne of Green Gables by Catherine Reid- I've been wanting to pick this book up ever since I read Anne of Green Gables last year. It is about Prince Edward Island. Also, it includes Montgomery’s hand-colorized photographs, the illustrations originally used in Anne of Green Gables, and contemporary and historical photography.
4. Floriography: An Illustrated Guide to the Victorian Language of Flowers by Jessica Roux- I bought this book to research for a book I am writing and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Language of Flowers is one of the most interesting parts of Victorian history that I have found out about more recently. For each flower you get a stunning illustration, the meaning of the flower, the origin of the meaning, and other flowers to pair it with to gain even more meaning. I adore the design of this book and found out a lot about the flowers.
5. Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore- I love Anna-Marie McLemore's writing so much, though I have yet to read this book. They have such a wonderful style of writing and this is one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen.
6. The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett- This is another of the Litjoy classic editions that I own. It's one of the prettiest copies I have seen of The Secret Garden which was definitely a childhood favorite of mine. I grew up loving the 1993 movie and also loved the book in elementary school.
7. How to be a Moonflower by Katie Daisy- One of the most beautiful books I have ever seen. It is filled with quotes, poetry, recipes, and stunning watercolor illustrations of flowers. I was lucky enough to find my copy from a free little library at our town park.
8. The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst- I read this beautiful book at the end of March into early April and absolutely adored it. Sarah Beth Durst is becoming one of my favorite authors and this might be my favorite book I have read of hers. It is beautiful inside and out. I highly recommend it to fans of her writing.
10. The Secret World of Briar Rose by Cindy Pham - I cannot tell you how excited I am for this very beautiful book. It is a "Sleeping Beauty" queer retelling which takes place in the dream world of Briar Rose. I will be reading my ARC of it very soon. Also, this cover is so stunning. I adore it! It is coming out on June 2nd.
