Spring 2026 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Books On My Spring 2026 TBR

In the winter, I did decently well with my TBR. I read six out of the ten books I picked out for myself and dnfed one of them. My spring TBR is going to include the three books from that list that I didn't read, classics I want to get to, other books from my 26 books to read in 2026, and some of the ARCs I have for the spring.

Classics:

1. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

    -  One of the books that was on my TBR for the Winter that I did not get to. I have been wanting to read this book ever since I read Emily Bronte's sister, Charlotte Bronte's book Jane Eyre

2. I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

    - Another of the books from my winter TBR. I have heard many people say this book is a great book to read in the spring, so I figured I would wait until now to read this book. I'm very excited to get to this one soon.

3. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

    - A classic I have wanted to read for years because of the great things I have heard about it. I'm hoping to get to it in April.  This is one of the books that I most want to read this season.

4. Little Men (Little Women #2) by Louisa May Alcott

    - I adored Little Women when I read it back in 2022 and have planned on picking this up ever since. Another book I think will be a perfect spring read.

5. Anne of Avonlea (Anne of Green Gables #2) by L.M. Montgomery

    - I read Anne of Green Gables last year and adored it so much. This year, I'm hoping to get to at least a few of the rest of the books in the series and I'm hoping I love them as much as the first. I've heard this is even better than the first.

Other Books from my 26 to read in 2026:

6. Newt's Emerald by Garth Nix

    - The other book from my winter TBR that I didn't get to. I've heard this book is perfect for fans of Jane Austen and fantasy. Cozy regency fantasies are some of my absolute favorite books and I'm excited to finally get to this one.

7. The Herbwitch Princess (Witches of Olderea #2) by Ireen Chau

   - Another cozy regency fantasy. I read the first book last year and it was everything I could have wanted from it. Loved the witchy vibes very much.

8. Rhythm of War (The Stormlight Archive #4) by Brandon Sanderson

   - This year, I'm going to finish the first arc of The Stormlight Archive and want to get to the fourth book sometime in the spring. Hopefully, in April. I'm looking forward to getting back into this series and see what happens next. This is the other book I want to most read this season. I cannot wait for this one!

Books I have ARCS of:

I have many different ARCs for this spring. Here are the two that I am most excited to get to.

9. Galahad and the Grail by Malcolm Guite

   - This is a novel written in verse about Galahad, one of King Arthur's knights, and his search for the Holy Grail. It is the first book in a series which are going to focus on many characters from King Arthur tale. I have an ARC for this book and am planning on it being one of the first books I read in April.

10. Death Meets Cute by J. Penner

   - I have been looking forward to this book ever since I first heard about it last year. Then, I saw one of J. Penner's posts earlier this month where she said that this book has a connection to Shakepeare's Macbeth. Macbeth is my favorite of his plays. The main character is the second sister to the three witchesAlso, there are other silly nods to Shakespeare. It is going to be part of a trilogy where all the books are loose adaptations of Shakespeare's plays. I enjoy J. Penner's writing quite a bit and I'm looking forward to seeing where she takes this story. Always have loved adaptations of Shakespeare's plays especially humorous ones.

  3. I’m curious to hear what you think of Anne of Avonlea. I think the first few books in that series were the best.
