Halloween Songs (Halloween Freebie) πŸŽƒπŸˆ‍⬛

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Halloween Songs

For the Halloween Freebie this week, I decided to make a post dedicated to all of my favorite Halloween songs. Music is my biggest passion other than books. There is not a day that I don't listen to music at least for a small portion of the day. These are all of my favorite songs to listen to at this time of the year that get me into the Halloween spirit. I have also linked my full Halloween Playlist which has all of these songs and plenty of others that I enjoy.

1.  "Thriller" by Michael Jackson and Vincent Price

πŸ§Ÿ To me, the ultimate Halloween song will always be Michael Jackson's "Thriller." This is always one of the first songs I listen to in October.

2. "I Put a Spell On You" sung by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy from Hocus Pocus

πŸ§™ Nothing says Halloween to me as much as the Sanderson sisters singing "I Put a Spell On You."

3. "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker from Ghostbusters

πŸ‘» I love this song and the music video so much. It never gets old.

"Who you gon' call? (Ghostbusters!)"

4. "Rest in Peace" by Darren Criss from Muppets Haunted Mansion

πŸͺ¦ I grew up watching the Muppets movies and I'll always be a sucker for the specials. This was one of the better most recent ones. I particularly loved this song with Darren Criss. It definitely made my Halloween song playlist the minute I heard it. So good.

5. "Magic Dance" by David Bowie from Labyrinth

πŸŽƒ David Bowie had to make this list with this gem of a song. This always gets me wanting to dance. Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies from the 80s.

6. "Friends On the Other Side" by Keith David from The Princess and the Frog

πŸ‘Ή Dr. Facilier is the best out of Disney's more recent villains and I love his villain song.

7. "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas

πŸ’€  This song gets in my head all the time during October. It's so catchy. I enjoy both the demo version and the movie version. They are great.

8. "Bloody Mary" by Lady Gaga

πŸ§› Perfect song for Halloween. It's definitely one of my favorites of Lady Gaga's songs.

9. "Time Warp" cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show

πŸ¦‡ I have never actually watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but I absolutely love this song.

10. "Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Picket and The Crypt- Kickers

πŸ§Œ Had to put this classic on my list because it is always one of my favorites to listen to every year. It is definitely one of the ones that I have heard the most.

  3. Love this idea, Thriller is so iconic for dancing, I saw a video once of a cool teacher who taught the teenagers a dance routine to it. I would have loved to do something like that in school.

    1. I used to work at a daycare and I taught them a lot of different dances over the years. We (the school kids and I) after school the one year were trying to learn the dance moves to Thriller. Always had a ball doing stuff like that with them and my preschoolers.

I'll check out your post. Have a great rest of your week!
