Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Books Guaranteed to Put an End to My Reading Slump
There are plenty of books I know will help me get out of a slump when they occur. I don't have many slumps but they definitely happen when my mood isn't the best. Many of the books on this list are not specific and are instead either from a genre or a specific author. This list is going to have many more than ten books because of this.
1. Caught Running by Madeline Urban and Abigail Roux
📚 I had to put this book on this list because I literally just used it to get out of a week long slump. It is always the first book I think about when I am having a hard time getting into books or when I just don't feel like reading at all. Old favorites are always a great way for me to back into reading.
2. Thirty Things by Cate Ashwood
📖 Another old favorite, which I adore rereading and have used multiple times to help get out of a slump. I find comfort in revisiting books which I know I love the plot of. Stories with a happy ending are definitely perfect ways for me get interested in reading again.
3. N.R. Walker books
📚 N. R. Walker is my favorite romance writer and I have read about thirty of her books so far. Usually if I am using one to help get out of a slump, I pick a new one because I almost always lover her books and they just make me happy. Books that make me laugh are always great books to help get out of a slump and her books always make me laugh. I'll put some of my favorites of her books.
4. An old favorite poetry collections
📖 Poetry collections is a broad category because I don't have a specific one that I go to when I am in a reading slump. When in a slump, I have found it is easier to get out of it with reading smaller books, stories, or poems. Many times I'll just pick up a favorite one and then I'll read some of the poems from it. My go-tos are: Edgar Allan Poe, Nikita Gill, and Mina Loy.

5. Graphic Novels
📚 Graphic Novels is another broad category for me. They are easier to read than prose books and will almost always get me to want to read even more books after I pick them up. I don't have specific ones I always pick. Most times it will be one that I have been wanting to pick up for a while. Below, I will give some recommendations which I have highly enjoyed over the years that I know would help me get back into reading after a slump.

DeleteI love that you included graphic novels on your list. They are a great way to help switch things up, and stop a slump or burnout from happening. A couple I've read and enjoyed this year are If You'll Have Me by Eunni (it's a sapphic story) and Adulthood is a Myth by Sarah Andersen.

It's about male teachers who fall in love. They are both baseball coaches at the school they teach at.
